Her OS crashed and she's got some work due on a project we're working together. We figured another computer in her house will do the trick in a pinch, but she needs Cool Edit to do the work and didn't have it on a backup disk. I got it on a disk and can post to my FTP. Thing is how do I transfer it into my computer so that it becomes simply a file that I can zip and send it to her? When I load the disk, my OS wants to overwrite it on my computer. We're both using XP. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

Drew,
Create a folder on your desktop for the files. When you insert the disc, hold down the Control key which will stop the program from autoloading. If the program attempts to autoload anyway, simply click Cancel or Exit (which button shows u . Then, open the disc's contents with Windows Explorer. Copy and paste ALL the files from the disc into the folder you created on your desktop. Then upload the folder to your FTP, IF you have enough storage.
Hope that helps and sorry she's having such trouble. |

Thanks, Doc. Just got off the phone with our board hero, Frank, who already has it in zip form. It's on the way to her. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com
