Just got the new Avid Mbox (un upgrade from the Mbox1).

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong.

I know you're already beginning with a great mic, but I think the sample with the new Mbox sounds fantastic. Now, are you talking about the brand new black versions of the boxes? They say, like all marketing hype says, how great the pre's are in the units, but you just don't know till you hear them compared with dedicated pre's. Being hands on, what's your take on the sound?
