According to all the usual sources (FB, VU, Plaxo, etc.) it's Drew Hadwal's birthday. But somewhere in the back of my head I'm thinking this may be one of those fake, identity-theft-prevention birthdays like Peter O'Connell's. So if it's Drew's Un-Birthday, here's some fake cake.

And if it's Drew's real birthday, here's a real cake.

Thanks for the cake, Lee! Yep, according to my records, right about this time in Chester, PA in 1957...for better or worse...I made my entry into the world. On one of 'em I've got fake B-Day...I'm not sure which it is.

Happy Birthday, Drew... or Happy Un-Birthday.
In either case, you're getting older and need to enjoy the moment.

Hi. Many thanks to all of ya that wished me B-Day greetings here, sent me eCards...and to da folks that wished me greetings dat I don't even know!

I'm about to get drunk.

The morning started out with my telling a client to seek other services...a total nut job. However, he refused to be fired and we've been flaming each other all day to no avail. He simply refuses to be fired. I even sent his deposit back only for him to return it to me again! I'm thinking of just finishing the job so he'll go away.

By lunch the temps here in my part of Texas hit 105 degrees with two brown-outs. While my computer survived, our air conditioning didn't. The power spikes blew a wire from the compressor to the relay. When I pulled the lid to the outside unit I saw the damage right away. While I used to be a licensed contractor--I aint no HVAC guy. I don't mess with stuff I'm not fully comfortable with 'cause I know I'll do more damage than good. Bye-bye $125 for a guy to come out and replace a wire I could have done myself for about 4 bucks. Buuut as i said...

Meantime the guy I fired keeps calling and emailing saying we're a great team. I tell my wife, "Take a message."

Soooo, then I decide that while I'm pushing the deadline here, I do have to get to the DMV and renew my driver's license as it does expire today. Well, wouldn't ya know, da rules have changed. What was once considered a valid birth certificate, ain't no more. Plus, they tell me I need a valid Social Security card, too. I'm like, "I lost that when I was 19 taking a ........in the woods on the PA Turnpike. It's never been an issue before, 'cause I know the number by heart."
"Sorry you need both or no license."
Now I'm, by law, grounded. I just sent PA $20 to get the "New Official Version" of my BC, and on Monday I "thumb it" to the SS office to fill out an application to get a replacement card.
Then it's back to the DMV in a week (depends on when my BC arrives) and I get to take the written, eye exam, and road test to get my DL. This will time out well, 'cause that's when my 17-year-old son will be doing his. Of course, he thinks this is just one big hoot.

So, join me in throwing back some Makers Mark. A gift from my wife that I will truly enjoy...and probably finish off before dawn breaks again.
