VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

… and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jerome Santucci.

I am a relative newbie to VOs. I attended one of Pat Fraley's Cartoon Voice workshops when first starting out a couple of years ago. It started off great and Pat was really gracious, but by the afternoon I realized I simply was not ready. I floundered for a while after that, but then I did some pro bono work to get back on the right track. I started this year with a renewed drive and have landed my first few paid gigs, including a film narration I recorded at Marc Graue's studio back in February. I built (what I think is) a good home VO "booth", but the equipment badly needs upgrading (still using a Samson usb mic, yikes!).

I am the 12th of 16 children (yes, my parents are catholic). I'm married, but have no kids of my own.

I worked my way through college as a licensed pharmacy technician, I have a double BA in history and anthropology, and my other job is as a substitute teacher (jr hi and hi school), so I have a lot of fields covered. I am a pretty good whistler and can also Tuvan throat sing (a very unique/weird talent).

I have been reading the board here at VO-BB for 2 days straight now and have learned a ton already. Thanks for having me.

A Double BA in history and anthropology?
COOL! My BA was in History as well, and I took a bunch of anthropology classes 'cause I loved the subject! Laugh

Did anybody mention cake yet?

Oh, and I have a Samson USB mic... it's quite serviceable, and works well on the road. We have other mics, too... my favorite for really "yelly" reads is a blue snowball, and for the "warm reads" we have regular studio mics (Sennheiser, Sony, etc.) that have performed well for us over the years.
