I love mine. I use it mainly for imaging work. If I had any promo or trailer work I would use it for that too.

I think it would be a great mic for you to try on for size.

The ElectroVoice 635A and its forbear have been around for eons.

The nick name for it is "The Hammer Head” seen on TV on almost every TV station with a new dept. Strong enough to drive a nail but I agree not up to serious VO work.

I think Frank F. mentioned it on this BB, when you have heard a 251/C12 or a very good inspired version, (John Peluso never says his product is a clone) there is a microphone epiphany.

Well, I'm inspired. Looking back through the thread, I guess my questions were a bit redundant and were answered by other posts. There is a great wealth of knowledge and information on this site and I'm always amazed at the coolness of the folks here.

Thanks Brian, Willie, Jessie and Ed for your feedback.

Ed -- Thanks for the suggestions. Peluso 251/C12 looks very interesting and will certainly be on my hit list down the road. I've heard some audio sample of the mic and I am impressed. I'm not sure if it would fit in with what I have in mind at this time. As far as the SM57 is concerned, I do have one and have used it for Online Radio stuff and I find it great for guitar cabs and live vocals. I'm sure if I would use it for VO outside of maybe Narration. Same with the ElectroVoice 635A. It looks interesting, but not really what I am looking for.
As far as the Telefunken ELAM 251 C12 is concerned, if Frank is sold on it then it must be all that and a bag of chips. Its way out of my price range and probably more mic than I can handle at this time.

Now to wait for B&H to open so I can create another bill to raise my wife’s eyebrow.

Thanks again to everyone.
