I had inherited a family business a few years ago. Not really inherited, but fell into, I guess. A building service business (janitorial, windows, floors, day porter, etc.) Same sorta thing. Even with very cautiously and meticulously prepared estimates and quotes, people still say, "Can you just do this, or that," etc. I can really sympathize, as very often, with lots of people, it doesn't matter what you spell out in a signed contract. People always try to take advantage, and try to push you to see how much you will give to them or do for them until you get fed up enough to say NO. It all depends on how far you allow people to go, in my experience. GOOD LUCK!!

Agreed. It's a fairly universal thing wherever you're in the business of taking other people's money. Wink

Say, that was almost a Yogi Berra-ism!

It's like deja-vu all over again...
Seriously, I found it very repulsive that when, for example, we would throw some freebies at our biggest customers, we would create an estimate/invoice (just so there would be no disputes later on as to if we did a project, or when we did a project) and you would go to get it signed by someone, and they would see at the bottom the $00.00, they would still say, why can't you do this, or could you do that. Very Very annoying, especially when the project was free, and they still wanted more.

Sorry for the rant, but now you see why we sold that business. God, that was an awful period of my life. I was miserable.

I am SOOOO disappointed that four pages into this thread and nobody came up with the best answer of all for this wacko:

Dear Weasel:

F- off. I have a closet full of baseball bats and a room full of pissed of VO pro's who know how to joyfully use them on weasels.

Do you comprenday "Whap, Whack, Thud!?"

Again, clear, concise and to the point. Simple is always better.

Although I could be wrong.... Bitchin

No kidding, I would've gone Brooklyn on this guy long before this.
I have to respect the level of decency and restraint shown thus far. I don't know if I could've done it.
