While USB 2 is 480 mbps and FW400 is 400 mbps, FW has a lighter load on the CPU, so it could perform better in some cases. However, I find FW can sometimes be more challenging to deal with. YMMV.

OT:
I am using Carbon Copy Cloner instead of Super Duper because
1: CCC is actually faster
2: It's FREE, or cheaper (if you make a donation to Bombich, like I did)

Another note on cloning... according to Western Digital, their external dives are not recommend for Mac users when a bootable clone is desired.

More reasons to be cautious about updating to 10.5.7...

I thought it was cool, installed the combo update on my wife's Mac Pro, and broke Adobe CS3... woopie.
