What about plugging a furman power conditioner into a UPS? I have a freebie UPS that needs a battery change and I was thinking of getting a furman. Is it possible? Overkill? Will I go up in flames? |

That is a VERY good question. It really depends on the power conditioner. The unit I have is a Furman AR 1215 AC Line Stabilizer. I actually tried what you are talking about, two times, and it did NOT go over well. All's well until the UPS switches into battery mode when power is lost. If your UPS is NOT out-putting a True Sine Wave AC, then it will destroy the AR-1215.
Plug your the OUTPUT of the line conditioner into the INPUT of the UPS, and you'll be fine. Or just buy a UPS with built-in voltage stabilizing and line conditioning. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
