Clue's in the name Peter. It is a web site for 123 average to low income voice over artists and about 7654 people who enjoy complaining..... a lot.

Boy, I dunno, I'm still not sure what it is. But I think I'm glad I've always been below average

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that Philip's response was insulting. |

Insulting? No.
Banks is funny, smart and talented
Like mine, his wicked sense of humor can be misunderstood; on this board, we are all too interested in having a good time here and too busy (and underpaid) to try and slam folks. _________________ - Peter

To be honest I normally pick right up on his sense of humor. Apparently I missed it this time. I think I'll take a break from the board for a while. It is clearly getting to me. |

I thought he was being, sorry, I'll start again. I knew I was being insulting, yet with a high degree of style and pith. Or perhaps I was just taking the pith.
On a serious note. It's worth listening to 100 demo's at random on that site and hearing for yourself the quality. I'd find it heartbreaking if I actually cared. |

Pith as in containing pith or pithy "that was pithy" = Brief and full of meaning. Feel free to use it at will.
Ridiculous = My answerphone announcement. James a director called me to arrange a session for some BMW TV commercials (You didn't need to know that I'm just showing off ...again). He had to call back because he was laughing so much at the announcement he completely forgot what he was going to say. You just can't get the staff these days !!!
Prana = Makers of handbags and posh frocks for Satan's followers - See also "The Devil Wears Prana".

I've heard Daffy Duck use that word a lot, talking about "pith and vinegar".

This may sound unrelated to the subject matter... but please bare with me.
We should all realize by now that the Internet is a marvelous place to find information about anything and anyone. Therefor, I have often referred to it as the world’s largest outhouse wall. Truths, as well as lies, can be found on this wall.
That being said... If I were to lose my dog... I would create flyers with a photo of my dog, and staple them on telephone poles, fences, etcetera. This can be compared to free advertising. My chances of someone finding my dog is increased by the number of telephone poles or fences on which my flyers are posted.
Many voice actors use V123, Voices, (even Craig’s List) and the myriads of other sites like those for the free advertising (visibility) that they provide. I have noticed that many of the artisans, who use these sites for the advertising aspect, are also owners of their own well-designed website. Does this mean that they need the work? Probably not... but anytime we can find a spot on the Web where we can post a free Ad that says “This is me and this is what I can do for you.”... I would suggest we take advantage of the situation. If you prefer to pay for the privilege of hanging your shingle at a website... with promises of audition notices… more power to you. And if you happen to be among those who land enough work, that pays for your membership... congratulations... you can now enjoy the free ride. _________________ "Bailey"
