Finally got my BackTraxx 1 today. Fed Ex was a bit slow for some reason...but all is well now Smile After previewing some of the tracks, I do believe I got an excellent deal! Lots of great tracks there. I also got the Holiday Stack Traxx. Very cool how that works.

Thanks again for the heads up on this great deal Dave Smile

According to an email I received today, this offer is still in effect for a few more days, though the special bonus offerings seem to have expired. Still, it's a lot of excellent music for just $100.

To see the current version of the offer click here.

Got my collection Fri., 12-1-06.

Looks great, but the discholder book it came in was trashed! All the sleeves were torn open on the side, and the discs in dissaray in the box... doesn't look to be any disc damage, though.

Did the rest of you get just 29 discs in the main collection?.. then the extra disc of your choice, and .... what the heck is that last disc they include with the package?

Again, DH, thanks for the tip... I'm in the music now!

Dave,

I too received the same 29 disks, plus the extra disk. I believe from looking it over that the last disk is an application that allows you to use the music on the extra disk in unique ways, building segments in layers (or re-orchestrating as it were) of the various pieces.

After I've played with it I'll post more.

Thanks, Bob....

'Stayed up late, and found the Digital Juice link explaining what Digital Juicer 3.0 is, and how to use it. According to them, the Juicer is: "... a small application that acts as a media manager and converter, helping you to search, sort and find exactly the file you need and then export that file into the format that you need..."

It's a P D F file you can download.
All the best!

Yeah, mine too. But I figure for the price savings, I can get a larger, more secure vault and holder for all my music anyway.

I can't get the Juicer 3 to work for me. But the index CD (#29) that has lower resolution examples of every cut on all the disc is perfect.
WE (Old School)

(The second day I had the package, I used a Christmas cut for a Radio promo ad for the magazine we publish. On the third day, I used other cuts for two TV spots....on the fourth day, we used....) Smile

OK - so I didn't buy it - because I spent a loooong time on the site trying to decide which one of the "extra" disks to include with my order and couldn't find ANY that sounded usable to my ears. I listened to a bit of nearly every cut on every one of those extra disks.

One of the things I loved to do as a producer was to sit in the audio room and scan through the music library - reading the descriptions to select a bunch of disks. Then listening to the first couple of seconds of each until I had a short list. Then reading a bit of the script over each of the cuts on that list.

As hard as I tried, I couldn't "hear" anything I had done recently backed up by those "free" tracks.

At this point, that part of the offer is gone - maybe if I have time, I'll listen to some of the cuts of the regular disks since so many of you seem so happy with them.

It really would be nice to have some extra music around for those rare times.

When I opened mine, several, but not all of the disc sleeves were torn too. Five if I remember right. I just taped 'em up and put the cd's back in. No damage on any of the cd's.

I've used several tracks already from both the Back Traxx 1 and 2 librarys for local radio and television commercials. All sound fine and there is a lot of usable stuff there, especially the specialty tracks. I do like the "Cool Stuff" cd's. Nice stuff there too.

Like Connie, I didn't know which of the Stack Traxx I wanted either, so I just took the Holiday Stack Traxx. You can never have enough holiday music Smile

All in all, a great deal from Digital Juice. I'm satisifed Laugh

Like Jowillie, I cannot (and MAN I've tried) get the Juicer 3.0 to work for me. When I ask it to Install Previews per the directions... the program does not respond. I'm using my DVD player like it says (even though most are CD's), and I'm using my first disc like it says. Nothing!

'Can't get it to play in Windows Media Player either.

How are the rest of you previewing and extracting these files?

Dave did you get a Stack Traxx? I used the Stack Traxx DVD and it pulled the list and preview files just fine. When I tried with the cd's, it wouldn't work for me either. Beats me....I'll try again later when I have more time to piddle with it.

Received both BackTraxx (1&2) in perfect condition... and surprizingly...have already used cuts from both. Some of the cuts I doubt I will ever use as they just aren't my taste but I can say the same with the other library I have as well...and I spent more for it than both BackTraxx combined Frown

As for the "Juicer" software... I thought it was just me cause I haven't been able to get it to work either. It will install but will not pull in the tracks on the library discs as advertised. More tinkering will be needed...or I may break down and call customer service and see what they have to say. They have been very accomodating the last two times I called them. In the meantime, I just use the index CD to preview the tracks and it works fine for both Mac and peecee.
Haven't even played with the StackTraxx yet.

According to some research I've done on the Juicer problem it may be due to DLA settings. (DLA = Drive Letter Access). To correct the problem, check this link:

http://www.digitaljuice.com/support/knowledgebase/topic_detail.asp?tid=57

Be sure to read the entire text, though, as you may not want to perform this operation if you are needing packet writing.

Also, since I haven't yet received my library and haven't actually seen the software in action it's difficult to troubleshoot. However, it may be wise to check to see which version of Juicer came with the library. My bet is that it's version 2 and there's a newer version 3 downloadable on the Digital Juice web site. This may also solve some problems.

Let me know how it goes.

I imported all of the discs into iTunes, making each track a 128kbps MP3 file. It took a little time to go in and name all of the tracks properly, but I'm a bit compulsive about keeping my data in order, so I actually get a deranged type of enjoyment out of that process. Now I've got the whole thing nicely catalogued in an interface that I'm completely comfortable using; I can preview any of the tracks quickly and easily.

TC,

We salute you for your ingenuity. What is the advantage of doing the itunes process rather than using the #29 disc which is already cataloged with full samples?
