I can't send the output sound back into the micport pro because it doesn't have a line in, and skype refuses to see the Mbox, it only wants to take the sound from the pc mic port or the micport pro...grrrr _________________ www.clairedodin.com |

That's right, you can't share the Mbox with Pro Tools and another a .
Sounds like on-board sound it is, or use the MicPort and send a low level signal into it (since it is looking for mic level input). _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I've found a software that allows me to play a wav file down the skype line (instant watcher), but after testing the sound, it is not better than simply feed the headphone line to the mic line.
I think it's going to be the best sound we can get. a direct phone recording would probably not be better either.
thanks for your help! _________________ www.clairedodin.com |

I'm bookmarking this thread so I can come back to it when I finally "go skype" for some gigs. It has fed my audio geek quota for the day, thank you! _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

honestly, claire, make it easy on yourself ... just get the necessary codes and call in through the system's "back door" and record down the phone line.

I use to do this for a Verizon company and had to be onsite using the ISDN phone. It was an older pbx from Avaya. The reason was that the system was programmed to allow specific extensions to record.
My advice, go business casual and have them splurge on lunch. _________________ Genus |
