Kara,
The perfect thing to wear for our NC VO get-together in a week and a day! Then again, maybe not. _________________ Be well,

Wow Kara, you and I like to shop at the same places. Although mine is a little snug. It's hard to buy off the rack when you're a giant. |

Hmmm..I bought SC a month ago. Since then, three new clients contacted me from the contact list on the Source Elements website. Seems there is a need. There are people who use it. And there is money to be made.
Now, back to the nay sayers. |

Its useful, it works, clients like it, its an investment and its tax deductable.
I put it into the 'speculate to accumulate' column and its another reason for a client not to not use me.....if thats not too tortological.

Hey Donovan can you give more information about the SC w/ bridge? Does that allow you to connect to someone with ISDN, or do you have to find a studio that has ISDN and SC and then have them connect to the other studio that has only ISDN? |

Rich, have a look at the SC website they list 4 companies that will bridge. Digifon, Ednet, Outofhere & Sphere.
I guess they all work in more or less the same way, in either direction. _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

Rich,
I've used Digifon for sessions like this. It's worked seamlessly for my clients. _________________ Be well,

Thanks Bob, do you have the Pro version of Source Connect or standard? I am curious if standard is sufficient or do most clients want the higher bit rate of Pro?
Just out of curiosity how much do you normally have to pay for a bridging session? |

Rich,
Standard. Aside from a few fine adjustment settings and the ability to have multiple, simultaneous connects, the two versions are very similar. Digifon is $50, plus ISDN line charges, for a half-hour (if booked 24 hours in advance) session. _________________ Be well,

Thanks Bob, I just wanted to make sure that the standard version provided a high enough quality recording. I am now living in an area where ISDN is not a likely option so I want to make sure I have an adequate option. |

I have the standard SC too, as well as Source Live if clients want to listen in. remotely.

I had no idea that Digifon was so expensive, I realise that its a much cheaper option than installing ISDN, but given some of the rates paid, it must make it barely economical to do the work!! _________________ www.davidmonteath.com
