i didn't think there was any water in arizona. like, you need a divining rod when you're thirsty.

Because we have so little water naturally, we go crazy with it un-naturally. We have an elaborate system of lakes and dams for storage of mountain runoff, and we have a bunch of large residential developments with artificial lakes. I live in what used to be a citrus grove and we have grandfathered rights to the irrigation water. I need it for the big trees that shade my house.
This may be an old number now, but I recall us having the highest number of registered boats per capita of any state in the union. We're just nuts about water!

utah = largest consumers of water, per capita.
