Aw shucks! (scratches his behind)....back in Illinoiz, where I grew up, it was common knowledge that 'possums were born dead by the side of the road. That's how we made it through the harsh winters!

Takes me back to the good old graduate student days when I used to scrounge flesh-eating beatles off of dead coyotes along the highways outside of Tucson. The university's beetle colony had fallen on hard times and I was trying to restore it. I loved explaining it to the cops when they would pull over to question me.
I wonder if that little shop right off the highway sells Buzz's Pemmican? |

Funny thing is, there used to be a restaurant chain around here (they've since gone belly-u that offered a "Road Kill Sandwich." It was a grilled chicken breast sandwich, but it came to your table with the top of the bun off. The meat had "tire tracks" branded into the top. |

The web can be a verrrryyyy interesting place when you let your brain start vamping.
After reading through this thread, I remembered a Road Kill Cafe in a nearby town, which led me to google to see if it was still around, which led me to discover a whole bunch of them, which led me to a link to a cookbook on Amazon, which led me to "Customers who bought this item also bought...", which made me realize there's so much I don't know about regarding activities in the woods.
And let's just leave it at that. |

Thank goodness I'm already a vegetarian because the concept of a "road kill sandwich" would be enough to instantly convert me. By the way does that sandwich come with fur, and two cute little beady eyes looking up at you? I've got to stop now, and apply acupressure to get rid of my nausea.

As long as it didn't crawl off the bun, I was happy. |

Now THERE's a t-shirt!
we might have to change the bottom part, though...
