It sound's like you have a system that works...my suggestion would be:

-A back up hard drive
-A back up audio interface
-A Back up power supply
-RAM upgrade if needed

If you happen to have a hard drive or audio interface failure, you could loose work, so making preperations now seems wise. Also, if you don't already have a back up power supply, you certainly should get one

Yes, I was actually thinking along those same lines as well, Brian. And also maybe a BACK-UP MICROPHONE...I really do have mic fever I believe

wow, thanks everybody for keeping me from developing a complete case of gearitis!!!!

But seriously, I do need at least a backup mic...,my Rodes NT1 is great, and I have a Shure SM 57 which is okay, but I have to turn the gain all the way up with it using my Mackie Spike and there is more distortion evident...so either I figure out how to fix the Shure, or get a backup mic that won't blow the bank like a Senn shotgun or Neumann would(sigh...)

well, first off the Shure is a dynamic mic, not a condensor, so it will always require more gain than the R0de (FWIW: the R0de runs a smidge hot anyway).

If you absolutely have to have a backup, either grab something like a Studio Projects mic, or even an MXL 990 (cheap, but it works somewhat well) if you like the sound of the R0de and don't want to try anything different you could always grab another R0de mic (NT-2 or even one of their tube mics... a few folks have the K2 and seem to love them).

For now though, I'd go with the majority of the gang and say that since your chain is working and nothing is bothering you, work on promoting yourself as a talent first, and worry about the gear a bit later.
