My 16 year old daughter and I say Sangaia (SP???) has to go. I'll watch one week, skip the next, whatever. I heard there are bots that people can get over the web that'll make thousands of calls in a 2 hour period... think I'll get me one..... Not really! like I care....

Also, is it just me, or after last night's bandana treatment, don't you think Sanjaya should hereafter be known as SanJemima?

Now who ever said this "business" is fair? AI is more of a personality contest at this point. I only watched part of an episode to see what all the fuss was about. I don't usually watch Reality shows but I am hooked on "Dancing with the Stars." It's a fun show, and everyone already has a career.

I've loved American Idol since season 1. My family and I have been rather addicted really. This season has been something of a disappointment however.

Sanjaya's invulnerability is the result of his getting the VFTW vote, the influence of Howard Stern and others and of course, the Indian / Hindu vote which I'm sure he has a firm lock on. Regardless of whether he wins or loses, the real value is that America has been introduced to some wonderfully talented people i.e. Melinda Doolittle and Jordan Sparks among others. These people will surely reap their just rewards in the end even if some spoilers arrange for a Sanjaya victory. After all, Clay Aiken came in second but he is enjoying a fantastic career. Even Frenchy Davis who was summarily ejected from the show has had success on Broadway in Rent and go knows what else. Let's not even talk about William Hung whose album actually sold over 100,000 copies in it's 1st month!!

The fix may be in for Sanjaya, but in the end it's all those other talented kids that will be winners!

p.s., I rather like Sanjaya's soft Michael Jacksonesque voice but I am in the minority at our house.

EDIT: Found this interesting link about where some of the losers are now.

Absolutely! A 12 week (not 22 month) elimination constest:

First week a short song and dance on Social Security reform,

Second week a little longer ditty on the nation's infrastructure,

Ending up with the final two contestants doing a four part medley on Iraq, Afghanistan, Global Terrorism, and Rebuilding the Military! Instead of free phone votes, charge 25-cents a call to help pay for Universal Health Care!

Thank you American Idol for saving our country's belabored politcal process with comparative dignity, and pizzazz!

How could he not know?

It's easy to think that way when we are separated from the moment by the media of TV. You probably have to be there... on stage... knowing that millions of people are waiting to see your reaction to their decision. I could imagine that the feelings of all the contestants are right on the surface.

Sanjaya knew that the ride would come to an end someday... but it's always a "shock" when the time comes.

Ok, just got all caught up on AI...am I the only one that feels sorry for Sanjaya?? He's only 17, he's been told his whole life that he and his sister are so talented and can sing. He goes with her to the audition, everyone thinking SHE is the star. Instead he gets in, gets put all the way through...and then finds out he sholuld stick to winning karaoke trophies!

Then he's targeted by Stern- labeled the worst on the show...and has to keep performing each week! He's just a kid! Now he's in the top 10 and has to go on tour as the worst of the lot.

I just feel sorry. All the more reason to keep the young guys at home until they are strong enough and smart enough to know if they really have what it takes! If it weren't for Jordan, I would think the age limits should be 20++ to be an American Idol.

All that being said...I'm so glad he's gone!

Should EVERY kid win a ribbon at the state fair or tug-of-war or the frickin' pie-eating contest? You know: should every kid get a prize, or does the podium still matter? If their parents say they're the best, by doG they MIGHT be. Or might not be. Truth matters.

BTW, I don't watch American Idol. Explode Devil

Is there not a correlation here between AI and what we do?

"I've been told all my life that I have a great speaking voice. I should be a voice-over guy!"

How many people have thought that and then found out they don't have what it takes to compete?
