I have one client who sends nearly everything in with the phrase - "can we have this yesterday?" For anyone who wants me to work on the weekend, I will charge a Rush Fee. If it is a regular client and I have the time to work in a few lines, I don't sweat it. If I have to re-arrange, then I am up front about it.
But there have been many time when I felt like the Secret Agent being dropped in by helicopter to save the day! This was back in the days when I was actually going to studios. Those last minute calls when the other talent just didn't work out, or collapsed on the set (yep, that happened)...ah - I really don't miss them at all. Had to actually be dressed and ready to leave the house for those kinds of calls. When an "emergency" comes in now, I can usually take care of it - no matter how I am dressed (or undressed depending on the time of the year). _________________ Playing for a living...

Yep. 50% rush surcharge. That's part of the VO ho thang.
And Lauren-- I hear you about the proactive stuff. How long has my website been under construction, my friends? I can't do the things that will bring me more work 'coz I'm...working.
