I agree. Nice and obvious now. I think it's much better.
As a side note, you logo looks kind of like the first draft version of Audible's logo. I don't know how close it has to be before it's a trademark infringement, but that might be something to consider, being in the same general industry and all. |

todd, I've told you this before, but that's freakin' hilarious! (And, I assume, a parody, which is legally protected.)
The site's looking great, Chris. As to Jason's point about the logo, I'm not a lawyer (which disappoints my mom no end), but the Internets have this to say about trademark infringement:
Quote: | "Likelihood of confusion" is the central focus of any trademark infringement claim. A likelihood of confusion exists when consumers viewing the allegedly infringing mark would probably assume that the product or service it represents is associated with the source of a different product or service identified with a similar mark. |
A judgment call to be sure, but the two logos look pretty darn similar to me. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Chris, the little tweaks you've done as a result of the sweaty masses throwing in their $0.02 are looking good... the (very few) rough edges have been knocked off and it looks much better while still maintaining your original vision... which was pretty good place to start. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Thanks, fellas. I wasn't aware of the logo similarity - holy cow. Damn, damn, damn! So I had paid a guy to make me a logo, and he produced the "V" with the arcs and... damn.
I'll go logo-less. It may seem odd that I never noticed before, but I hadn't actually ever *looked* at their logo. Argggh!
...I worked blasted hard on that roadsign thingy last night. It took a lot of fudging to get rid of the original text and still look okay, which was - hmmm, ominous? - "Dead End."
At this point, I've run out of curse words and have just started making up new ones. Good thing nobody else is home. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |

I have removed the logo from the top nav thingy, and have peeled the logo tape lines from the metal sign.
The sign is blank for the moment, awaiting further inspiration, but filling in the giant nondescript space.
I do appreciate all the help, here. And noticing the logo, that's big - with my luck, I'd have been sued tomorrow...
I can always get another logo, but I can't get another several million dollars. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |

For the road sign:
- Your Search Ends Here
- (not a) QUIET ZONE!
- Beware - Professional Ahead
- Recording Zone
- Vocal Traffic Only (my fave) _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

I think "vocal traffic only" or "vo traffic only" might be nifty.
Others:
- elevation +4dBu
- listen carefully
- hear here
- hear me
- ped xing silhouette with headphones or similar

Went with "Voice Traffic Only" for now. Nitpicking of my own: "vocal" connotes - to me, anyway - "singing," which is something that I most definitely do not do.
So, "voice" is my choice. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |

Vocal traffic only.... an obvious (or maybe not) play on the common "Local Traffic Only" sign usually seen in residential neighborhoods.
Good one, Doug. _________________ Don Brookshire

I think I'll change it to "vocal" when I have a moment later today.
Fortunately, these changes can happen without disrupting anything, because hardly anyone is aware that I even exist, and thus are every minute visiting my site approximately 0.0 times an hour. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |

Um...yes. (Which is why it was my favorite.)
Thanks, Don.

Alrighty - sign now says "vocal."
Once again, thanks to all of you. It's very nice that the folks here are quite accommodating and generous with their time. If I can help any of you in any way, please do let me know. My other skills include drinking coffee and napping, so I'm pretty limited, though. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |
