Both sound good to me. However, it sounds like you might be working the mic to closely. I think too much proximity makes one sound like they are on a microphone rather than just communicating with you. Are you using a pop screen? Maybe just back off an inch or two.

But, again you have a terrific voice and both mics sound good.

Bill you are so right, I stated that a few post back, yep too close.
I just found the sweet spot, and now the mic sounds better than I thought It did. The mic is temperamental.
Thank you.
Bill

Bob,

Oh yes, after finding the right sweet spot, it shines.
I have to get a new mic stand for it, as I am swapping it out with the old one.

For specific clients, I must use the 'ol Standard!

So when is the big reveal, Bill? Just waiting to be proven wrong on my guesses.

It's been long enough, no one else is going to play.
So post yours, and the big reveal later tonight.

Then this weekend I will add a better file that not so over modulated!

I'm with Rob on mic B....

Mic A is too close, so it's hard to call.

Don't assume that you can run both mics off the same pre.... Each may require its own best friend. Ninja

The answer is:
Mic_A. Gefell MT71s
Mic_B. Sennheiser 416 P48

Bob, for a guy that says he can't hear, was about as close as you can get.

And yes the Gefell sound sucks due to the fact that I worked it like the 416, yes folks I am an idiot. Mic has more than paid for it's self in the last 2 weeks, but the 416 spends more time on the stand.

Now I would like to see Frank's answer?

Well, I have to admit the MT71s had me going. I knew it was a Gefell, but I heard more of a vintage UM92 or U47. My Bad.

The MKH416 I was spot on. The sound of this shotgun microphone is distinctive as is it's pattern. (At least my average was 50% on this one).

So what we discussed about privately privately, is also a bit misleading.

Half right does not mean half a$$ed.

As I stated in one of the first entries that it was sending a false signature, assuming you would think it was 47' ish. But the fact that I messed up the example, it was not fair. You guys are major Mic gods, to guess the Gefell on this one! I should post a new improved example of the beauty of the 71s.

I expected Frank's call, even if he missed the individual mic, he knew the sound.

And good ears, Bob. Smile

Don’t sell either of them, Bill .... Find their appropriate partners....

Nice pair when you get comfortable with them.... Smile

Not bad for a beginner, eh Bill? I am a U47 fan and used to own a couple in my collection (long story on the "used to" part). The sound of the vintage U47 is almost unmistakable with it's solid body and rounded lows and mids.

Bob, where do meet for dinner, and when? Thanks Bill.
