I wrote and then deleted a LOT more in that previous post, but what Bish said is mostly what I was going to say... Why are VO's being pushed into buying this and that, especially those working in arguably one of the lowest paying sectors of the industry? _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Take a segment of previously submitted audio, give it a very minor, but just audible, boost around 10kHz... send it off and say, "Wow, thanks for the suggestion... this is SO much better... thanks for the suggestion."
Dollars to Doughnuts* he'll agree and be really smug that his suggestion has lifted you to the next level

Beau Weaver uses this trick when someone asks him to "use a Neumann instead of the Sennheiser." twist of the EQ and presto. It's my favorite technique as well. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

That is a very odd piece of gear to request. That said the 528e is known as a solid channel strip for broadcasting. The gate is hard to beat and the pre holds its own IMO. Much easier to do the same thing with a digital plugin though. I will agree that anyone requesting one likely wouldn't know the difference. |

All I can say is, it's here, I'm using it, it makes my job easier, and the client likes it. _________________ Dangerous.

What's a few hundred (well a couple fews) to keep a good client happy, and coming back. Call it a business expense, write it off, and keep the client |
