If someone invites you to their house for a party... you don't complain about the brand of vodka they're serving! Make any changes you want!

The only problems that I could foresee would be human ones. If you make it too easy to directly embed media, it lowers the barrier for people to post the "Hey, this was sent to me, I think it's really funny and I'm sure you will too." type of post. Now, I'll go off to look at cute cat videos when the fancy takes me, but I don't like them thrust upon me.

The VO-BB provides a well-moderated, rich environment for discussion, support and good-natured banter for people who have an appreciation of language. I'm just a little cautious about any movement towards "a site where you can share media with your friends".

Policing 1000+ members in a special-interest BB system should be a simple task, but just a couple of out-layers (obsessed with self-promotion or sharing cute videos) could make the task (at least) more time consuming, or (at most), quite onerous.

Sorry to sound like a naysayer, but someone has to... Wink

Perhaps we can institute a "foolishness and off topic" forum if the need arises.
Keeping the chaff separate from the wheat hasn't been a problem so far— let us see how well we all behave.

Hey when life hands you lemmings you.......wait a minute....scratch that metaphor.

Anyone remember the pain of learning audio editing on the computer? Where would we be now without it and all the updates? This should be a lot easier than that to adjust to, and if this new platform works as well as advertised, a year from now we'll all go "meh, what was the big deal?"

Of course it's a big deal for you, but we're all behind you, over here in the corner.

I will be working on this project as time allows!

Right now at Camp Cooper East, plant maintenance takes precedence— and there's always more need than first appears.

I had designs on working on this last night, but GoDaddy was doing server housekeeping or something. I will post notes of results when I can.
