Actually, that's not true, it's letting me record but it isn't recognizing my input signal. I'm going from a Focusrite Saffire to SF8.0 on a PC with WinXP... this is my first time trying 48k and the first time I've had an issue. When I create the 48k file and go to record, the Saffire clicks and nothing shows on the SF meters. It's working fine at 44.1 but the client requested 48k AIFF for their video project.

Any ideas?

As a last ditch just record in 44.1 and save as 48

hey Chris, just tried to reproduce the problem, but I had flawless performance in SF8 recording an empty file in 48k at different bitrates even. Have you tried recording in 48k WAV en then [save as AIFF]?

Actually Edo, it's not giving me any level to even record in any format at that bit-rate... I'm starting to think it's a Saffire issue and not a SoundForge one.

Eddie, if I record at 44.1 and save at 48, won't that alter the audio?

I'm trying to avoid the "unplug the Saffire" route if I can, otherwise I'm stuck recording into the stock Soundblaster soundcard... not the end of the world, but still not optimal.

But then again - in all honesty - how would you ever know if the Saffire is the actual culprit?

Do a resample on soundforge in the process tab then save.
