Is anyone running Source Connect Standard 3.0 through Adobe Audition 3.0 and into a Presonus Firebox? I am coming out of a Mackie board into Line IN 3 & 4 of the Presonus Firebox and taking the Main OUTS to my speakers. The Presonus Firebox is connected to the computer via a firewire input. When I use AA w/Source Connect I am not able to be heard on the other end and have no mic levels going into to the software. I can hear the person on the other end but they sound like Darth Vader.
I am certain my Audio Setup and Device Manager settings in AA maybe be set up wrong for this. Right now I can record in AA (not using Source Connect) without having to turn my speakers off but I cannot hear my voice through headphones on the Mackie or headphone input on the Presonus Firebox.
If anyone has this or a similar setup or can help me figure this out so I can use Source Connect with this setup I would be most appreciative. Thanks!

Glenn--
Have you tried the folks over at Source Connect's tech support? I know often times it's the real world folks here that can give the best advice, but tech support's always worth a shot too (if you haven't already.) |

Glenn:
Just got off the phone with Steve Nafshun and he mentioned your problem.
May I suggest using Source Elements Desktop?

Otherwise, the issue you are dealing with is with signal routing through Audition. I am a Mac guy primarily but I could somehow acquire AA and install it in Parallels.
In Pro Tools, you create an Auxillary track upon which you insert the SC plugin. Then you route the Output of your Mic input track to a Bus, and assign that Bus to the Input of the Aux track. The the output of the Aux track is routed to the Main L-R outputs so you can hear the return from the other studio.
Also, try support in the Adobe Audition forums.

Best of luck!

Thanks Chuck and George. Actually I talked to Steve tonight and we tested it out. It sounds great. All I had to do was adjust my Audio Hardware Setup Drivers in AA. It was not a big deal after I just fiddled with things for a few minutes until I got everything right. The Firebox really doesn't have anything to do with the issues. My problems were in AA. It is surprising how well Source Connects sounds when you have a decent broadband connection. Thanks and I appreciate all of your input. Who knows I may need more at some point.
