Oh my, Yoda is right... I wonder who...
This is an older version of the AI, if you really have to have a U-87 - go with the original (tube), it is soooooooooo much better.
Do they make it in pink for Connie?

I know someone who can
Or, just call Neumann... they're pretty nice about that stuff.
/charge you an arm and a leg though.
Frank have you tried the Innertube U87 kit? Not quite a U67, but very nice.
/ironically, the current AI works very nicely on my voice... don't understand all the hate (on recording boards, not here) _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

Not a fan of retrofits or tube replacement kits. Although I have heard some major changes in some microphones with a retrofit kit.
I am a purist. Keep it original, keep it clean and working, and you never fail... well almost never.
I am still trying to figure out which color I want for my next microphone. Red, blue, chrome, champagne... Oh well, the color of the outside of the microphone does not really make a real difference to me, the color, cut, and clarity (just like a diamond) do however.
The U87 ai is a good microphone for some voices, mine is not one of them. However, the original U87 Classic - well, it has been my favorite since I bought it back in my days of being a radio disc jockey.
Toodles

Aw it's cute!
Sound is the most important issue, but the aesthetics of one's gear can't hurt, can it?
I just bought a really nasty cheapo mic. It sounds good for my voice on some applications, which is why I got it: but the thing is so outrageously colorful that it's fun to work with. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

No delivery, pick-up only? Since I'm not planning on visiting Oslo anytime soon, guess I'll have to pass. _________________ Chris Rice - Noisemaker

My main concern with this mic would be the levels----I figure it's probably in the red a lot...... |
