Yes, but no...I can't. That thing about non-disclosure until distributors are notified of the product release...or something.
The good news is that all this new stuff starts getting announced within the next days and weeks.
How I feel about that:
For many years, I also maintained a Photography studio group to go along with our agency work. It seemed the technology changed daily. If you have gear that's 18 months to 2 years old--it's obsolete. We just could not afford to keep up, but we stayed as close as possible to maintain clients that expected it. Now it's the same for video.
You probably noticed the same situation with computer technology. We have decided that it's just too expensive and risky to pay to be on "the cutting edge." We will wait for at least 8 to 18 months after a new technology or piece of equipment is out, or has proven itself effective (worked the bugs out) before we invest. That means we are getting the last or next to last release of new gear. Sometimes it may be less expensive, as long as it works like we need it to.
OKay, that said!
If you need it--Buy it! As far as new Microphones and interfaces, something will come along quite regularly. If you have found something that works for you--put it to work...now.
Do let us know what you decide. Gear fever is still fun, even if we can't afford it.
