I love having a few clients in Amman. I hate the fact that there's always a peppering of words I have NO clue how to pronounce. I'm doing a MOH for a hotel, Any suggestions on the following?

Aleppo: I know it's a region and a kind of restaurant
Mezzas: A desserty thingy
Al Halaby: name of the Aleppo restaurant offering the mezzas.

I don't know how to pronounce 'em but Aleppo is still in my brain umpteen years after memorising it from Macbeth in 7th grade:

Her husband's to Aleppo gone, master o' the Tiger
But in a sieve I'll thither sail
And like a rat without a tail,
I'll do, I'll do, and I'll do......

and I pronounced it like Diane said.

It sure is goofy what sticks around in the grey matter.

Moe, I love that speech. The elder of my two brothers always used to recite it to me whenever I went away for an overnight trip.

We didn't get out of 8th grade Social Studies without reciting from rote memory:

On second thought...

Can you recite from rote memory? Or does that only really apply to the written and/or simply 'known'? Certainly, it's easier to say 'recite from memory'. But is 'recite from rote memory' actually wrong? Hmm.

Forgive my brain freeze of the day. Writers, unite and enlighten, please!!
