I travel regularly with my laptop, mic and MBOX. All carry ons, of course. No troubles, mate.

Just remeber to bring the manual!

Could be worse... I know of a DJ who had the brilliant idea of affixing the MSDS for radioactive materials to all of his gear just before heading to a gig on the other side of the country.

Needless to say, security had a field day with him Rolls Eyes

Use your head, bring some manuals, and be prepped to plug in the gear to prove it is what you say it is, and that you are who you say you are.

Sitting in the San Diego airport night before last we counted at least 20 musicians walking past our gate(they were carrying guitar cases, arms covered in tattoos and dressed in black). My guess is that the airport security people have seen more recording gear than a picker/packer at Musician's Friend.

Hey....I think they were staying at my hotel.....I was outside the hotel while they were all loading up the vehicles with their stuff. Could be a different group of musicians, but the descriptions and numbers and time frames match....I'm fairly certain they were on their way to the San Diego airport.

When we used to ship location gear around the country, we had a problem with airport pilfering. We attached labels that read, "CAUTION, HAZARDUOUS MEDICAL WASTE!"....we never had the problem again. Sick
