Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for asking that question. There are transactions in the works (some also completed) right now and there are people who are now successfully using the SurePay system to work with their clients.

I can't give you an exact date for the changeover, but know that it is imminent and coming soon.

Thank you for your insight and giving us some space to breathe during this phase. You are right to say that there are still Beta elements about the website and we are fully aware of that. We were rolling the features out over a series of days this week, hence why things are still in motion to a degree.

I'll post here when I can share more information with you.

Take care,

Stephanie

Kara, I'm all for losing the top 100 list. It was self-perpetuating. Make the list and you'll get more work. Do more work and you solidify your position on the list.

Thanks for the update, Stephanie!

Wow Stephanie!

I am really impressed by the fact Voices is making this change and that you all have listened to the feedback in order to make your service better. I applaud your company for the quick actions being taken. Well done!

Ben

Ben: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm glad that you feel better Amy. I couldn't bear the thought of you being otherwise. I'd feel the same way if I didn't know you personally, but since I do, it comes as a great relief to me to know that you are smiling again.

I think it would be nice if those who had been in conversation with Laurynda regarding this matter would send her a quick note thanking her as well - that or leave her a comment on the blog post at VOX Daily. She has been on the receiving end of much of the previous feedback and would love to know how you feel about the changes to come Smile

I agree. The top 100 needs to go.

What would stop someone from creating a bunch of alternate users and then posting bogus jobs, then giving themselves high scores, even to the point of giving themselves the jobs and even PAYING themselves.

Yeah, make the top 100 go away.

I agree with a lot of everyone's concerns, and am glad to see the folks at Voices are responding quickly. I believe that talent shouldn't rate themselves (how biased is that) which would obviously skew ratings. Nor should talent rate each other like a popularity contest unless that talent is one of the few who also hires other talent in a legit job. I mean really, don't we have a gazillion more things of higher priority we should be doing for our careers? Just my 2 cents.

Dan,

As I understand the way this new Feedback system will work, yes, it goes both ways just like on eBay. Both the client and the talent provide feedback after the transaction is completed. Follow-up feedback will be allowed, again like eBay.

(This is, of course, only how I understand things and I may be wrong. I often am.)

Finally!... Client/Talent VO feedback is entering the 21st century.
It would definitely work for a better presentation than the "Top 100 List".

I've never been crazy about Voice's institutional, banker-like style. Admittedly, that slant may be discoloured by my 18 months of head-banging failure there.
But I absolutely salute Stephanie and company's quick shift in recognizing the blatant silliness of their rating system.
All revolutionary solutions, however, bring about their own set of new problems. As I understand it, it would now advantage me to sneak off with a couple of extreme low-bid jobs ($4.99 comes to mind) in order to at least get ratings and be ahead of the great unselected, unrated throng.
No?
