Matt, good to have you aboard. And by the way, what Courvo said about disregarding posts...he wasn't kidding...really...well, sorta'...but not really.

Anyway, if you've been doing billboards and promos on Discovery networks without an agent, I get the feeling that we have a lot to learn from you.

Cheers!

Thanks for all the love, people! I'd put an emoticon here, but I can't quite figure out how.

Anyway, to answer a few questions:
The "yawn" and "Discovery Channel" being in the same sentence only meant that I was certain that I was just rambling on at that point.

McLaughlin is a fun group. He runs a tight ship though. He wasn't even there when I was and they ALWAYS referred to him as DOCTOR McLaughlin (yes, you could hear the capitalization).

Mike Rowe's a great guy! So is Ted Koppel--I sometimes come in to do a session right after he's wrapped and they have to raise the microphone and stand up quite a bit. But the guy knows his stuff. I got to hang around and watch--very clean.

As for me teaching anyone anything, I'm always happy to try. But the secret to my success is (a) huge amounts of luck and (b) the ability to take direction. That's how I won my first contract with Discovery, which totally surprised my wife (not the luck part, but the ability to take direction).

I've checked out a lot of your demos and I'm impressed with the amount of talent out there.

So thanks! I hope to be able to offer my 2 or 3 cents and assist people in any way I can.

Matt

My Mike Rowe comment was in jest, but I guess I should have explained. Man he's on fire. Dirty Jobs, narrating Deadliest Catch and all the others, the Ford commercials. He comes off as a very real guy and can sing!.

And, I think my wife has a crush on him. Lips Are Sealed

Dirty jobs rocks!!

I wish it would have been on when I was working in the Ford casting plant in Cleveland. He would have had an invite for sure.
