Hey Everybody,
Love your show. Long time listener, first time caller...
I've got some some gripes, and it's ALL YOUR FAULT!! (Hang in there, DB...)
My kitchen is a mess. Laundry is in heaps. Dumped meals have piled around the highchair (not mine). Canceled the appointment to get the squeak fixed on the car. Emails have gone unanswered. Voices.com wonders why I've stopped auditioning. Not sure if I showered yesterday, and certainly haven't today. My husband is around here somewhere, probably hungry. Baby and dogs are fed, but that's as good as it gets.
This board is more addictive than crack (I SUPPOSE)!!!!!!!!!!
Bags hand under my eyes and I've lost pounds as I read, read, read everything here since getting back from Las Vegas and rooming with Liz (lizden).
Oh, yes, I was the lucky soul who happened into the Spamalot adventure with her! And, just for fun, I have to add a few things she missed in her post: while she was talking with Steve Wynn, I had the pleasure of meeting Diane Sawyer who was on her way to the after-party. I was awe-struck. I shook her hand. She introduced me to (I heard)..."......my husband...........Mike Nichols...................he's a producer." To which I reply "Oh that's nice." A few more pleasantries, and they were off. Hindsight 20/20, I'll bet Diane walked away thinking "Oh, that poor girl. She just didn't get it! I tried to help. Even gave her the que. Oh, that poor girl!" You see, it wasn't until later that I learned how big of a producer that Mike Nichols is. And it wasn't until I got home that I learned that he is THE producer of Spamalot! Certainly, she must have said ...he's the producer, not a producer. What can I say? I live under a rock. All I can do now is laugh. But I digress...
I'm not a newbie to VO, but I am a newbie at taking VO seriously. I could go on and on (and on) about how I started in it and how excited I am to be dedicated to it full-time now, but I'll spare you. (Insert *your imagination* here.) This is what I do and who I am. No more distractions.
But here is the real message in all this: I have found my people. I am home.
Before Vegas, I found fabulous local people who were nothing but friendly and helpful (Johnny George, Matt Rawlings, Rick Such & Earshot Studio, the gang at Bennett Innovations, Alex&Jorge in Mexico). Vegas itself was, well, I don't even have to say it. Since Vegas, I've been amazed, entertained, and inspired by the camaraderie on this board.
THANK YOU.
Now I feel like I can join the gang of usual 'posters' (and thread jackers).
Let the fun begin!! |

Not at all!
We love our robust brothers and sisters.
It just means you don't need to worry about your diet of VO-BB morsels. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Welcome home Mandy!
I've got the coffee on...
We have actually sold our home of 15 years and are looking for something set up more for teenagers and my studio. We have to be out by the end of May at the latest...
Gotta run - and hit a homerun! _________________ Ralph Hass
