Okay, this is weird and maybe someone has some insight.
I just recorded, edited and save a session in Audition 1.5 I exported as 16bit 44.1, 128kbps mp3. It plays fine in Audition, Audacity, Creative Media Source, but, in Windows Media Player I sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Media player is fine with other mp3's I have created at other times, but two from this evening's session are on speed.
any ideas? |

Bill... FWIW... the audition you sent plays fine with Windows Media Player on this end.

Bill,
Check your sound card playback settings in MediaPlayer. Did you install a new audio program or update a program recently?
Good luck, no chipmunks allowed.

Dave, Frank, Thanks.
It's very odd, I haven't added any programs etc, but its only Media Player, and the files I recorded last night ( haven't had chance to check today as I am updating the OS) but they play in Winamp, Audacity, Audition, Sonar, Creative (whatever their player is installed with my Zen) just not media player.
So it must just be a media player issue, odd though I plays other mp3 files fine. I'll have to reinstall it ans see what happens. Come to think of it, I do remember an incident recently when it wouldn't laod some files for me. requires further investigation.
Thanks! |

well, last night's session went fine, and the resultant mp3's played fine in Media player, taking the wav's recorded the previous night and creating mp3's resulted in the same issues. so it must be smething about those particular files that is goofy, but for the moment I'm leaving it alone. the files play in every other software I can try, and they are okay on other's media player, so its a local issue.
thanks again.

Bill,
Just a silly question here, probably won't be helpful, but could it be that the files are recorded in mono but encoded to MP3 as stereo? _________________ Be well,
