|
|
Was poking around voicebank.net and after trying to register myself, I got an email saying that only agents could register talent. But if I wanted to fork over $150 to Voice Registry, "a service specifically for VO artists who are trying to get representation"....
Anyone ever gotten an agent through them? _________________ Jeff

Let me ask you this:
When did agents ever "look" for voice talent? _________________ DBCooperVO.com

From them: "when Agents are looking for new Talent to add to their rosters"....
Which I might take to mean "Crappy agents who can't get decent talent"? _________________ Jeff

That letter makes the rounds, my friend.
I get it every couple of years. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

The only value I can see is it's a good place to host your demo if you're doing some self-marketing and you want to be able to include a link in an email. And you don't have any other, less expensive place to host it. Nobody's gonna "discover" you there, I wager.

I am listed at Voice Registry and, to be honest, didn't sign up to be found by an agent. What I used it for was another route for clients to find me. Within the first week Nickelodeon had auditioned me. The next week a porn service and so on. Philip turned me on to them. And now, since I am represented by a voicebank agency I have to leave it.
To answer your question: No. I did not get an agent through VR. It was through the the vo-bb. Go figure. |

It offers credible visibility. For some reason it has a perceived value/credibility amongst its visitors. |

I've been picked up by a few agents but not through my listing there. It was a one-shot deal for me and I'm writing it off as advertising. |

I'd love to read that story. |
About 8 months ago, our beloved Pat Fraley posted a notice about a new agent looking for talent. I made the cut.
And Pat, again, thank you. Toni has been fantastic. |

Nice. Thanks for sharing. How about the Voice Registry thing. You get a lot of work through that? _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |
