Have you ever seen a YouTube Audio Ad? I just got an audition for one and I'm confused: It's specifically for YouTube... which is video... only... instead of a moving picture, there' a single image--no company logo, kinda looks like a still image from a typical campaign.

The low rate rate for this ad appears low at first look ("Worldwide" usage goes for $800 over a 2-mo period with options to renew twice more), but I've never seen one of these before. Anyone have experience?

Unless they are a huge company, the rate sounds fair. This is on the borderline between commercial and narration. The GVAA guide shows $500-$1,000 for a web narration buyout.

Thanks Bruce. I think I have a problem with the word "Worldwide" when maybe I shouldn't. By its nature, the internet is worldwide... and so the client therefore requests worldwide usage. However, the total addressable market (TAM) in this case seems to be limited to the USA. (Here, it's a prepaid wireless carrier in the United States.) So, not a worldwide market, per se.

No experience with that but an ad on Youtube is 'an ad on youtube' regardless of the visuals.
It's unreasonable to be able to check each play of the spot to make sure it's just audio and even then there's a VISUAL component.
That said, the rate for Worldwide, 2 months, $800, seems fair to me too.
