Outside the booth I use a click roller ball mouse, but inside the booth I have one of the latest Apple trackpads and go into settings and enable "tap to click". Works great for quiet work. You could even pair two mice and just use the trackpad for when you need silence.
I find that too much time on the trackpad is not good for hand and general posture _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |

totally agree -- i've tried trackpads, and just, generally, don't like them. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Yeah it's pretty much the most expensive script scroller ever _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |

M330 Silent Plus Wireless Mouse
But I just got Logitech Signature M650 mouse 'cause I needed more buttons in the booth. Indeed it's quieter than most mice, but it's not completely silent.. _________________ Jeff Berlin

I'm using a Logitech M510 wireless mouse and I never hear it while I'm narrating. Of course I talk over it while I scroll through long narrations (the scroller is super quiet) and I usually don't use the mouse during shorter things like commercials (the click is very quiet too).
Currently it goes for under $20 at Target and Office Depot and $28 at Amazon and such.

i'm using the M510 now ... the scroll wheel is super quiet, but i DO get an audible "click" - not catastrophic, but audible. i'm hoping the M330 is "Silent Plus" like it says on an internet.
the truth is, i MIGHT be running out of things to complain about. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

The Apple mouse has the option of just tapping for click. That doesn't allow for click and drag, but if just for clicking that would be dead silent. |
