This is the stuff Grandpa or Grandma would say. Please contribute, keep 'em short, keep 'em real!
1 - Best motivational quote to hear when you're a new, struggling voiceover - "Find a job that will pay your bills and do voiceover work for fun in the evenings and on weekends." Remember that VO seminars, conferences, coaches and demo producers don't give refunds!" |

Listen to the talents you admire. There's a lot to learn if you can figure out what and why they're doing what they do.

1) As long as you can read copy & string two words together in (roughly) the right order, it doesn't really matter what you sound like... but if you can't run a business, you'll get nowhere.
2) Never take advice from someone who wants your credit card number. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

In the early part of a VO career you don't win a lot of auditions. Funny thing, later in an established career you don't win a lot either. The trick? Find clients and agents who don't go through that audition rigamarole and serve them, and love them, and keep them.

An audition is an application for a job and most jobs worth having pay (in the US) around $35,000 per year + H&R.
