First, slow down. Presuming you’re narrating slide after slide you want to leave just a bit of comprehension time in between each thought or item. Not huge gaps, just thinking time.

Second, we ‘Mericans pronounce it “TEM-plut” not “TEM-plate”.

Carry on.

Duly noted.

Thank you very much, Bruce!

Do you have a target time to place between time cards? A full second?

No particular time gap. A full second might be too long in most cases. Just thinking time, time to absorb what was just said with pictures in front of the viewer. In re-listening I'd also add be a little more interested in what you're saying/describing. Your eventual audience are either people who must learn what you're teaching to get better at their job, or they really want to know what you're telling them. Help them, but don't beat them over the head with it either. A fine balance.

Perfect thank you Bruce, I'll think a little deeper on that.

Is it better to assume everyone listening to an explainer is really motivated to learn and understand it? I think I was operating with some assumption of, "I know this is a little dense and unsexy, but it's really not too complicated and you'll get the hang of it soon enough", maybe it's better to assume all content is fun and interesting even if it's all telephone books and tax filing numbers...
