I'm waiting on a 2nd WM-1 myself.
(And plus-1 for Luxo Mic arms!)
My main mic has the wall mount (with a neoprene gasket) but my other mic arm is mounted to the desk.
Having a desk/table mount is just terrible in my recording space because the tabletop transmits so much vibration to the arm-- just from the sound of my voice and any nearby activity in the house. (desk is also on a neoprene/foam layer, but this is an old house.) _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Shock mount doesn't help? Luxo user here as well. The "springless" appearance and feature is nice, and it holds well everything from a lightweight 416 to any mic in the 2 lb class. Everything gets shock mounted as I too use the desk mount feature. _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.

Shock mount does not help. I've used an RE-20 and a SP C-1 and they both get The Vibes.
The SP C-1 shock mount is questionable as a means of isolating the mic, but the RE20 has one of those boss spiderwebs and I still get vibrations in the recording. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |
