Amazing how the little things in life add up and just make your day. A friend found something I have been salivating over for the past couple of weeks - fresh corn on the cob.
I immediately put that in the smoker and couldn't stop myself from eating three ears of fresh, salt and pepper, smoked corn on the cob.
I am happy. Life is good!

corn cobb smoked butter pepper.... arghhhhdrool....
you lucky man
housebound since tues and , with a bunch of way over ripe bananas, did a first-time run of banana bread ...
don;t get excited... I have no skills...
I blame it all on the HITACHI HB B101 machine!
but it came out dandy...
next up Guinness Blonde Bread!
Best thing that could happen to the drink.
(Philip will understand... Guinness Blonde is an odd beverage, almost-but-not-completely-unlike-beer, produced by Guinness in nearby Baltimore. It is more drinkable than Miller Lite... but I favor things I cannot see a 100w lightbulb through... )
a search online says the elusive MACKESON XXX Stout is available 200m north of me in Pennsylvania... Road trip anyone ? _________________ SoundscenesDC, main talent and production offices just 385k km up the gravity well in LuNoHoCo Center, old satellite studios still bookable at the future site of Johnson City! |

son #3 was exposed in utah 12 days ago to someone who tested positive - PROBABLY before the other person contracted covid-19 --- but just in case, he's self-quarantining down at the farm. i called him yesterday and asked if everything was alright. he said it was, and he just finished eating dinner. he popped out to the woods, shot a squirrel, cleaned it & fried it up ... supper. that's my boy!
ps - country squirrels are MUCH tastier than city squirrels. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

City squirrels --- ugggh, Hope he is staying well Todd.
Guinness Blonde - yes Sir! As Bangers and Mash - better. Add smoked corn on the cobb and you now have a real meal. I have me a Guinesss Fedora and am wearing it right now,

I haven't had corn on the cob for over a year. I was hoping to enjoy some this week, but the Corona virus put a stop to that. On Wednesday, I was supposed to visit the dentist to have my brand new front teeth permanently installed, but I got a call, saying they were cancelling all non-emergency appointments for two weeks. So I now have to wait at least another ten days to be rid of my temporary choppers, which are not up to the task of separating corn from cob. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Sautéed corn is such a treat. I leave the cob shaving to my skilled partner however.

Thanks, Todd, but if I want it to taste like cilantro, I'll just squirt a little of this onto it.

well, their diets are different, right? country squirrels eat nuts & bark. city squirrels eat --- well, i don't even want to know what they eat ...
THAT SAID - until you've had fried squirrel and squirrel gravy on a homemade cat head biscuit - you have not truly lived.

Knowing todd, this had me a bit considered for about as long as it took me to do a quick Google search.
