May the road rise up to greet you, may the wind always be at your back.
--- An Irish Blessing

And may you dance a jig of happiness through the road of life.

Hope you all have a grand time. Separately. And together on the VO-BB.

Our corn beef and cabbage goes on the stove in an hour. Cocktails to follow.

Sláinte!

Our store had corned beef on super sale recently so I bought a few with long expiration dates to have as back up during our social distancing hullabaloo. Hopefully the markets will restock this week and next week bringing us a tiny bit of normal in our new routine.

Thank you Frank, many happy returns to you and yours. It was an unusual one this year given the restrictions but that just makes it more memorable I think.

For the record, it's not "Patty's", never has been, never will be, not now, not ever. "St Patty's Day" is like nails on a chalkboard to an Irish person. "Patty" is either a pet name for Patricia or it's a hamburger. "Paddy's Day" is perfectly acceptable and quite common, I use it all the time and "St. Pat's Day" is also fine.

I no longer receive bookings for St. Patrick's Day gigs. That's quite a claim to fame from a person who is, to my knowledge, the only authentic Irish, professional voice over in South Australia. A few years back I grew tired of the stereotypical begosh and begorrah, hollywood oirish scripts and politely rejected any sent my way. I understand the concept behind all these campaigns but in my opinion it's just lazy and lacks creativity. I once had a TV commercial gig for an Irish pub cancelled at the last minute, an hour before the session. A month later the ad appeared on TV with an Australian VO affecting his best, genetically modified leprechaun. Apparently 100% authentic isn't enough.

*sigh*

It was subdued here, but I did have a four pack of guiness to celebrate.
