Anyone ever have anything to do with any of the curvy-shield-on-a-stand things?
Specifically... where the heck do you put COPY with these things...?

... or don;t you.

i built a parabolic screen/filter based on the CAD AS32 design about 10 years ago. it worked really well. too well, in fact, as it made my room sound too dead. i was reading off paper at the time - so i just kinda propped it up out of the way one direction or tother.

I'm only working from my semi-reliable memory, but I don't remember anyone ever saying "Wow, I got one of those parabolic traps and it works great!"

I haven't seen an ad for one in some time now and I just went looking too. Hmmm.

they were a thing for a while. looking back - i modeled mine after the SE Electronics version. if i remember correctly it was - from back to front:

wire mesh
aluminum foil
felt
air gap
wire mesh
aluminum foil
felt
acoustic foam

the reviews are mixed

... with alternating layers of crisp wafer and chewy caramel... all carefully coated in our finest chocolate. Sorry Smile

I've never actually seen on in the wild... only in staged reviews where a (music) studio owner raves about them (usually because he's given over 300 sq ft of studio space to the drums and finding another 24 sq ft for a vocal booth is impossible).
