Anyone else having difficulty logging in to the VO-BB? On my first attempt I am immediately logged me out. The second try usually works, but not always. This happens on my desktop and phone. Other than the brief inconvenience, after being logged out the site clears all notifications of recent posts.

Am I alone here?

Did you try clearing your cache and restarting the browser? I know I sound like uninspired tech support ("I understand you are having an issue with logging in, is that correct?" "YES it's correct--I JUST SAID IT!"), but it might help.

Perhaps you are being de-platformed.

I am here to report your platform loves you and would never try and chase you away. Another member had unexpected troubles logging in and changed his password a couple of times with good results.

Remember, you can change passwords on your own. It’s a change of emails that requires my assistance. Let me know Dan.

I’m debating going through the trouble and expense of upgrading our software here. I keep seeing that it can be done while retaining archived posts, but I can’t find anyone who does it.

I have to log in each time I connect. I check the box that says to log me in automatically, but it has ceased to function (for my browser anyway). This has been going on for quite some time. I have another machine that still does log in automatically, though...

My Mac devices have never logged in automatically. I have to click that button.

This software is 17 years old... geezer status in the digital age.

You're not alone, Dan. My experience has been exactly as you described, for at least the last 18 months or so.

The database for this version of phpBB *will not* transfer to the new architecture.
The coding is different, and the posts will break.

I know I designed a new board interface a few times, and I can't recall why we always abandoned it-- I think it's because we couoldn't pbring over the database and archive.
I think it was just easier to prop this beast up, and have the archive handy.

I can help put together a new board if you like!

(and FWIW, I tend to stay logged in. Mac High Sierra, Safari 12.0.3. )
