Rowing frees my brain. Today, this was the question "Philip, what would life be like if you looked after yourself as well as you look after other people?" There's only one way to find out. From today I intend to do exactly that!
#PhilipFirst will become THE hashtag for 2019. Soon people all over the world will approach me and remind me thus .....

YES!
Self-care is first priority. Put on your own oxygen mask before helping other passengers.
Easy to say, challenging to implement. Keep at it. It's important. _________________ * * * * * * * * * *

In my pursuit of happiness and goodness I allowed Kate to bring in supplies. Yesterday evening she announced she wanted to eat crap and drink beer. After 20 minutes she returned giggling like a 13 year old.
"Oh no! What HAVE I done!"
This Reporter found himself unable to comment.

While I am unable to identify the specific contents of that box of delights with any degree of accuracy (I mean... seriously... if it's Scottish, battered, and deep fried... it could be absolutely anything)... I really miss that sort of thing. It's comfort food and it doesn't matter how unhealthy it is or how many days it takes off your life... give that a splash of HP, scoff the lot, and wash it down with a local brew (or a steaming mug of tea... that works as well).
Hold on... I take back the "unhealthy" comment... bottom right of the picture... there's something green... you obviously got the Scottish Salad from the "heathy option" menu. Well done. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

It's fine, it's a Chilli!
The so-called Munch Box was bought from a Chinese Take away in Buckie. It contained two things, everything and everything else
Kate emerged from the bathroom this morning wrapped in a towel. She will not be flying until Thursday as her in the front left seat would cause weight and balance issues for a 787 Dreamliner.
"That's the only thing you own that still fits" I remarked shortly before being fatally killed. |

I do believe good beer and take out are equally as important to self-care as exercise and vegetables! Nicely done! Great, now I'm thinking about beer and it's 10:30 in the morning... |

So lovely and soothing.
Thanks for the moment of zen, Philip.
(I just snuck out for a long walk on a beautiful cloudless Oregon spring day. There will be video next time.) _________________ * * * * * * * * * *

We drove to the Oregon coast and back today. Dual purpose... needed to see and hear the waves and smell the air, and we need to take our little dog out of the house for several hours. They are re-roofing our building and the nail guns and other gun shot type noises drive our little PTSD dog into a puddle of goo. She may have enjoyed today's drive and walks even more than we did.
