The upside is that the market has evolved so much that now the value of an LA agent for the vast majority of actors, union or otherwise, is about the same as a condom in a cheese sandwich.

i used to crave the opportunity to do a "national" spot & the status & cash high-end representation would bring. but i'm over that now. i like my anonymity, which is good, because i live far from the glittery coasts, and like it here. as far as cash goes - i make quite a good living from, almost exclusively, eLearning, which is all the non-union VO one can handle. residuals? no. relationships? yes. most of my clients have been with me 8 years or more ... some over 15. i've settled into my little midwest groove, and so far, it's working.

Supposing this is true...which kind of condom? Ultra thin? Ribbed? And what kind of cheese works best? Sharp? Cheddar? Limburger?
