Not a techie so here goes. On my PC I have two hard drives, C and D. I am trying to download a simple WAVES compressor/limiter. It wants to download to D which according to windows does not have enough space, Easy solution, download to C drive. I am not given that option by the WAVES site and I see no way to do it. Any ideas.

How do I enable the C drive to accept downloads?

While I use one of those "other" computers, this *may* work: most web browsers have download preferences. Locate your browser's preferences (I think Windows sometimes calls them Options) and see if you can change the default download destination.

I hope this helps!

what mike said - go to downloads properties > location & you can change from there.

Ah, PROPERTIES! I forgot that possibility. Thanks for the clarification, Todd.

Hey Philip you might try cleaning up excess junk on that drive to free up space.
Running Defrag and discheck, also deleting temp files and downloads that are old, caches, empty the trash bin, etc.

If all else fails, you could just move stuff from your D drive to your C drive until you have cleared enough space for it to download to the D drive. That said, it seems odd that Waves won't let you specify where to save their material, unless you have purchased other Waves products in the past and it wants to install the new stuff where the existing stuff resides.

Appreciate all the help, Nothing worked. I wasted $750 of my time trying to install $29 worth of software. The problem I need to solve can be done with an Alesis compressor/gate/limiter. It will be delivered next week, cost $220.

Should've done that in the first place.

I won't recommend WAVES plugs for this reason, registering and installing them sucks. Too bad you had to plunk down for some piece of hardware to do what software can do better. If only there was a guy who knew how to tune that kinda stuff...
