I would like to "spice up" my screencasts or a least make them not quite so boring. What do you professionals do to make boring information more interesting? I want to take it to the next level such as here: https://vimeo.com/221157597 Laugh

I suppose you could wear something that flashes on and off as you climb up and down to the various levels of "things."

Clever graphics can help. Of course comedy can be useful ... unless your topic is something like autopsy procedures.

Thanks for the tips, but the software is close to autopsy.

Fortunately I am I'm never on camera just the computer screen. I do not want to scare everyone off!

Not sure how I would lose the accent. I've had it, I assume, since I started talking. Born and raised in Texas. Laugh

It sounds like you are stuck with what you can do with the computer screen.

And the audio.

If the voice of the narrator is humorous and/or friendly that's always a plus.

But, let's assume you have absolutely no personality.

There is always motion.

Zooming in (and out) and highlighting the part of the program you are trying to show.

Some screen capture programs have the ability to enlarge/change the cursor making it easier to follow.

Plus..they have a "spotlight" feature that helps you to draw the viewers attention to a particular part of the screen.

Fancy transitions...of course. (perhaps with the occasional sound effect -woosh)

And then...my favorite secret weapon...a dog's squeaky toy which you squeeze twice at the appropriate time to emphasize a particular (squeak squeak) phrase. Rolls Eyes

Rule of thumb: If you can keep a dog's attention, then your screen cast is probably a winner.

I already do most of what you have suggested with Camtasia, but not the dog toy. I like it! will do something similar

i like the addition of more buttons at the next level. how many takes did you do? did you save the outtakes to run at the end of the program? i think that would be beneficial. you know, like when people are getting up to leave during the credits - then - BANG - you come back on? that always startles me & makes me feel foolish --- but it makes me laff too, so --- that's good, right?

You have received invalueless advice from people who on a daily basis prove themselves to be never very far from being knowledgeable.

The video you have used is the key.

1- Ensure no meaningful content.
2 - Pay to get bad teeth.
3 - See four
4 - See 1 and 2
5 My last point.
