Hit the audition machine today:

XX Bank & Trust - TV
$2000 each for 3 TV ads
2 year buyout (to cover record and 2 years usage)
Local Broadcast- Santa Barbara, Ventura County, Internet

More like $19,000 PER YEAR. Santa Barbara / Ventura "is Los Angeles", and doing a Bank ad in the LA market will keep you from doing any financial company anywhere.

Am a bit baffled by your statement, Santa Barbara/Ventura is "Los Angeles".

Used to work in Ventura County, and it is distinctly different than L.A. county. Santa Barbara is also its own county.

Santa Barbara County has a population of about 435,000, and Ventura County has a population of about 839,000 people. L.A. has a population of almost 3.9 million.

I really believe that you should get paid what a job is really worth. But, I really do not understand your statement that SB/Ventura is "Los Angeles".

Since Santa Barbara has very few and relatively minor media outlets, if you want your message heard by the majority of locals you use LA radio and TV.

Ventura is part of the LA media market (#2 overall). Santa Barbara is actually a separate market (#124). Which only makes things more confusing.

"Santa Barbara is Los Angeles" is the word I got from the paymasters.
Add Ventura and it's even more so.
