Everyone...make sure you go to http://www.dwad.net on December 22nd to hear my reading of "A Christmas Story" (The story of Jesus birth). When you get to the page, scroll down until you see the "Channel One" link in the middle of the page. The link is not active yet. But please check it out on the 22nd.

Thankyou Bob, Bailey and Liz. It was a lot of fun to do. It's going to be me reading a portion and pausing while the appropriate Christmas song is then played...when it finishes I pick up reading again and pause etc.....I'm introduced as the guest reader and everything. Pretty cool. The actual Christmas Special is all week long beginning on the 18th with a different part of the special being played each day. My day is Friday the 22nd.

For anyone planning on giving my Christmas special segment a listen, I should give you fair warning. I just got my personal copy from the producer and listened to it. I did not know the show was an hour long. I am not introduced until around the 17 minute and 25 second mark. My segment lasts until the 39 minute mark. The rest of the show before and after my part is christmas music. The format is....I read a portion and then the appropriate christmas song is played at which point i read another portion and the next appropriate song is played. It's done as if I were on stage in a theater....reverb added to my voice....applause.....the host introducing me before and interviewing me afterward my reading.....very cool stuff! Just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time so you can choose to opt out of listening if you don't have an hour to spare. I believe you have to download the file as well....I don't think it plays from the website.

Philip,

I always wondered if Father Christmas actually lived in Scotland and now I know. Thank you for this delicious bit of audio!

Merry Christmas to you and your house, Philip.

Just a reminder for all that are interested. Tomorrow is the airing of the Christmas Special episode with my reading of The Christmas Story. It's at http://www.dwad.net (Doctor Who Audio Drama website). It appears the Channel One link mentioned earlier is being used for another drama....all the links to the Christmas Special daily episodes are at the top of the page. Mine is Friday (tomorrow). My configuration downloads the file. I'm not sure if it will just play from the website with other configurations. Anyway. It's been awhile since I mentioned it and wanted to remind everyone. Rick Rhodes is hosting the show. (Just a side note in case anyone wonders.....THEY did that to my voice! They boosted the volume louder than the host and besides the addition of the reverb I believe they did some compression and gave it a boominess. I didn't submit that way...hahahaha). I hope you all enjoy it.

The file is now available for download. I believe they will be unavailable after today.

Tom,

I just finished listening to the program. You did a really nice job! And it's cool that you got to plug your work and website in that short interview with the host after you were finished.

Thank you so much Bob. Coming from you that is a huge compliment. Thank you. I know...I thought that was really cool of them to put that in there. If I was an actor I was able to plug upcoming projects that people could catch me in etc....but alas, I had to resort to a website plug....hahahahaha

I'm listening right now. I'll listen while I mess around here for a while. When I run out of notes on the VO-BB, I'll just play a few brisk rounds of Hearts or Free Cell, just for the card-io workout. I am looking forward to your part!

=================================================

Okay, I just reopened this note because I just got to Tom's part.

Tom, wonderful job. A very good program is even better with your participation - Good stuff!

For anyone who hasn't yet listened, it really is well worth your time. Very well done.
