I did my introductory class at Edge Studios this past saturday and had a great time!
There was plenty I didnt know about the industry especially beyond the commercial realm, and it was a real treat to get the proverbial 20,000 foot view of everything.
One of the things I learned is that the majority of work on audiobooks does NOT in fact go through acx.com, and that most is recorded at their studio in NJ (seacaucus, I believe).
Ive worked on 2 audiobooks in the past with my friend, and one of them I'm very proud of (Leadership Briefs). He told me I was working at around 1.8 to 1 hours per finished hour, above the industry standard of 2 to 1 for seasoned professionals.
Since Ilive a short car ride away, how would I go about starting to work with them at their studio, does anyone know?
Thanks!! |
