If this isnt too dumb a question, how much is your intention about 'painting a picture' versus 'telling the story?' Or in general how do you create that dramatic tension, beyond just being really experienced?

It's about following the mood and pointing the viewer in the right direction with a nod of the head or a glance. I can't act so just have a number of ways (all me) of saying "I know a bunch of sh*t".
