Hello Everybody,

I have a Voices.com account that I'm looking to abandon. I had paid for a yearly fee, however.

So, I'm looking to transfer it to somebody who might get some use out of it. I have contacted them and they said it's something they DO allow.

$100 for the rest of the year (9 months). costs $395 annually normally.

PM me if insterested.

Paul

Paul, do you mind sharing why you want to abandon it?

Two reasons:

1. The Ethical. I too feel the icky feeling that most of the VO world has about that particular P2P

2. I'm having more luck with bodalgo, and don't want to pay for both right now.

Paul, I`ve heard a lot of people claiming Voices.com hasn`t provided the opportunities they were expecting, and that P2P-services are in general just a Russian roulette. What`s your opinion on this? Did you manage to use this service effectively?

I haven't had any luck at all with Voices.com. I get a few "listens" on my auditions every once in a while but no jobs and no contact from companies looking for jobs.

To be fair, I haven't actually gotten a job on bodalgo yet either, but I have had companies contact me asking for another take while I was on a short list, and several contact me to tell me "thanks, you were close but we went another direction"

It could be the folks on bodalgo are just more polite, but I feel like I'm making more progress there.

Paul

What's the constable thing all about? I see it every now and then, and am always slightly confused.

So much to say about this concept. Sadly, the constable precludes me from doing so.

Shorthand for "Away with your nonsense or I shall summon a Constable!"

All done in good humour but really we've done this P2P thing to death. As a matter of interest I just searched CannuckCriminals.con and following the devastating publicity they now only have 43,630 professional voice people to offer. Prior to the Dutchman, SAG-AFTRA and WoVo weighing in on them like a huge, blue, duck billed weighing thing they stood at 43,632 professionals. I shall send them a pound to tide them over until things improve.

I wasn't trying to start another debate, (though I knew some was inevitable). I'm simply trying to get out and maybe save some cash!

Denis, do a search under P2P or V123 and you will find out why most of us have no interest in joining these paid organizations. And those who find these companies useful or are addicted to the process of auditioning many times a day, they're probably enlisted already.

However, most of the Pay to Play detractors will admit that for newbies one might get some useful practice out of doing all those auditions. Just be aware of when it becomes time you need to bail out and earn VO money the old fashioned, tried-and-true way.

...however, consider the possibility that if you're a newbie using copy from P2P sites as practice material and don't have any coaching, you wind up practicing "in the dark," and may be only strengthening bad habits instead.
